The figure shows pulse generation apparatus (1) including a impactor bar (2) that can be pre-loaded in a direction reverse to arrow (A) by hydraulic actuator (3). Bolt (6) is exploded whilst the impactor bar (2) is pre-loaded thus releasing said bar into impact with the front end of bus (B), generating a compression wave of known characteristics through the bus structure to simulate a crash scenario. Transducer bars (8, 9) are arranged to take measurements from critical points of the bus structure.

L'invention concerne un appareil de génération d'impulsions (1), illustré par la figure. Cet appareil comprend une barre d'impacteur (2) qui peut être soumise à une force de précontrainte dans un sens opposé à la flèche (1) par un organe de commande hydraulique (3). Un boulon (6) explose lors de l'application de la précontrainte sur la barre d'impacteur (2), ce qui libère cette barre et provoque son impact avec l'extrémité avant du bus (B). Une onde de compression de caractéristique connue est ainsi générée dans la structure du bus, pour simuler un scénario d'accident. Des barres de transducteur (8, 9) sont disposées pour effectuer des mesures à partir des points critiques de la structure du bus.
