In a time domain electromagnetic mapping technique of the type using transmitter pulses of half-sinusoidal waveform, with the half sinusoids being segments of a sinusoidal waveform having a frequency and corresponding to a resonant frequency of the transmitter coil, an improved current fall time at the end of each pulse is obtained by forming each transmitter pulse of plural immediately successive half sinusoids, the transmitter coil being tuned to an appropriately increased resonant frequency relative to the pulse repetition rate. Circuits for generating the improved pulse waveforms are disclosed.

L'invention est une méthode de cartographie électromagnétique temporelle du type utilisant des impulsions semi-sinusoïdales, ces semi-sinusoïdes étant des alternances de sinusoïde ayant une fréquence correspondant à la fréquence de résonnance de la bobine de l'émetteur. L'invention procure une amélioration du temps de descente à la fin de chaque impulsion en produisant chaque impulsion au moyen de plusieurs semi-sinusoïdes successives avec la bobine de l'émetteur accordée à une fréquence de résonnance choisie de façon appropriée à une valeur plus élevée que la fréquence de répétition des impulsions. Les circuits générateurs de ces impulsions améliorées sont divulgués.
