The selected ink channels of a drop-on-demand ink jet printer are caused to expand and then contract, ejecting ink droplets by the application of unipolar voltages first to selected channels and then to non-selected channels. Further unipolar voltages, delayed in time by 2L/c and scaled by a pressure wave reflection coefficient r of the nozzle, effect prompt cancellation of residual pressure waves so that adjacent channels are ready for actuation with minimum delay.

Les canaux d'encre selectionnés d'une imprimante à jet d'encre déposant des gouttelettes à la demande sont soumis à un élargissement et à une contraction, les gouttelettes d'encre étant éjectées par application de tensions unipolaires, d'abord aux canaux sélectionnés et ensuite aux canaux non sélectionnés. D'autres tensions unipolaires, retardées en temps de 2 L/c et réglées selon un coefficient de réflexion d'ondes de pression r de l'ajutage, effectuent une annulation rapide des ondes de pression résiduelle de façon à ce que des canaux adjacents soient prêts à être actionnés avec un minimum de retard.
