The invention of this application relates to a hand or power tool (10) which can be used as a planer such that movement of the tool along a workpiece causes a portion of the material of the workpiece to be removed by at least one cutter blade provided on the tool at a baseplate of the tool which contacts with the workpiece. The tool is provided with at least one movable portion (32, 48, 68) which can be moved with respect to the baseplate and hence the tool. The said portion can be angularly movable (32) to allow a chamfer cut to be accurately achieved and/or can be slidably movable (48) with respect to the baseplate so as to protrude from an edge thereof to allow greater cutting accuracy to be achieved. In a further embodiment the movable portion (68) can be provided so as to be moved to allow user access to at least one debris conduit.
L'invention porte sur un outil à main ou électrique pouvant servir de rabot et tel que son mouvement le long de la pièce à travailler enlève une partie du matériau de la pièce au moyen d'au moins une lame de coupe fixée à la semelle de l'outil, en contact avec la pièce. L'outil présente au moins une partie mobile par rapport à la semelle, et donc par rapport à l'outil. La partie mobile peut être déplacée angulairement pour permettre de former un chanfrein, et/ou peut coulisser par rapport à la semelle de façon à saillir d'un de ses angles et donc permettre d'atteindre une plus grande précision de coupe. Dans d'autres exécutions, la partie mobile peut être déplacée pour permettre à l'utilisateur d'accéder à au moins un réceptacle à copeaux.
