The invention concerns a method for processing seismic data. The invention is characterised in that so as to prepare them for analysis based on at least four dimensions, it consists in: using a pointing and/or a pointing propagation on at least a subset of said data corresponding to a collection of data sampled in three or two dimensions, the quantity/quantities corresponding to the other dimension(s) being then fixed values, then in applying to at least one of the points highlighted by this pointing and/or pointing propagation a given projection law so as to determine a point which corresponds thereto in another subset corresponding to a collection of data sampled in the same dimensions, for a different value of at least one quantity corresponding to at least another dimension.

Procédé de traitement de données sismiques, caractérisé en ce qu'en vue de leur analyse en fonction d'au moins quatre dimensions, on met en oeuvre un pointé et/ou une propagation de pointé sur au moins un sous-ensemble de ces données qui correspond à une collection ces données échantillonnées selon trois ou deux dimensions, la ou les grandeurs qui correspondent à la ou aux autres dimensions étant alors de valeurs fixes, puis on applique à au moins un des points mis en évidence par ce pointé et/ou cette propagation de pointés une loi de projection donnée afin de déterminer un point qui lui correspond dans un autre sous-ensemble correspondant à une collection de données échantillonnées selon les mêmes dimensions, pour une valeur différente d'au moins une grandeur qui correspond à au moins une autre dimension.
