A method of inducing bone formation in a subject in need of such inducement comprises the steps of mechanically inducing an increase in osteoblast activity in the subject and elevating blood concentration of at least one bone anabolic agent in the subject. The method steps may be performed in any order, but in sufficient time proximity that the elevated concentration of the anabolic agent and the mechanically induced increase in osteoblast activity overlaps. The method may additionally comprise providing the subject with an elevated blood concentration of at least one antiresorptive agent, wherein the elevated concentration is sufficient to prevent resorption of new bone growth produced due to the osteoblast activity. Use of the method permits targeting of specific bones of the subject for bone production and preservation, faster bone production and earlier discontinuation of bone anabolic pharmaceuticals. Kits adapted for performing the method are provided.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de stimuler la formation osseuse chez un sujet qui nécessite une telle stimulation. Ce procédé comprend les étapes consistant à induire mécaniquement une augmentation dans l'activité ostéoblastique chez le sujet et à élever la concentration sanguine d'au moins un agent anabolisant osseux chez le sujet. Les étapes de ce procédé peuvent être mises en oeuvre dans n'importe quel ordre, mais dans un temps suffisamment rapproché pour que la concentration élevée de l'agent anabolisant et l'augmentation de l'activité ostéoblastique induite mécaniquement se chevauchent. Ce procédé peut également consister à obtenir chez le sujet une concentration sanguine élevée d'au moins un inhibiteur de la résorption osseuse, cette concentration élevée étant suffisante pour empêcher la résorption d'une nouvelle croissance osseuse produite grâce à l'activité ostéoblastique. L'utilisation de ce procédé permet le ciblage d'os spécifiques du sujet pour la production et la conservation osseuses, une production osseuse plus rapide et une interruption plus précoce de produits pharmaceutiques anabolisants osseux. L'invention concerne encore des kits permettant de mettre en oeuvre ce procédé.
