An in-line skate wheel includes an polyethylene closed cell foam ring surrounding the outer cylindrical surface of a hard plastic hub. Polyurethane ismolded onto the outer cylindrical surface of the hub and surrounding the polyethylene ring. The polyethylene ring is provided with a substantially lower density than the density of the polyurethane.
