There is provided for an in-line skate comprising a boot and a wheel-carrying chassis mounted beneath said boot, a brake assembly comprising a brake pad support and a brake pad secured to the underside of the brake pad support. The brake pad support has a lower portion and an upper portion, the lower portion being pivotally connected to said chassis such that the brake pad is positioned rearwardly from the chassis. The upper portion is secured to the chassis at any selected one of a plurality of attachment points. Each attachment point is the same radial distance from the pivotal connection, whereby the position of the brake pad may be adjusted by rotation about the pivotal connection to one of the attachment points. The attachment points are provided by virtue of the upper portion having a plurality of lateral holes, such that a pin may be inserted through one of the holes and a corresponding hole in the chassis.

Cette invention concerne un patin à roulettes alignées, comprenant une chaussure, un bloc de roulettes fixé à ladite chaussure et un frein constitué d'un patin et d'un support. Le support de frein est en deux parties : la partie inférieure est articulée au bloc de roulettes de manière que le patin de frein se trouve derrière le bloc. La partie supérieure est fixée au bloc de roulettes en un point choisi parmi plusieurs points déterminés, tous situés à la même distance radiale de l'articulation reliant la partie inférieure au bloc. La position du patin de frein peut être réglée en faisant tourner la partie inférieure du support de frein sur l'articulation pour amener la partie supérieure au point de fixation choisi. La partie supérieure du support de frein présente plusieurs trous latéraux, permettant de réaliser sa fixation au bloc de roulettes par insertion d'une tige dans un de ces trous et dans le trou correspondant sur le bloc.
