An in-line skate includes a body having a toe portion, a heel portion and a sole portion, a plurality of wheels mounted in the sole portion. A plurality of wheels are mounted in the sole portion of the body, and at least one light is mounted on the body. A power source is selectively switched into a circuit which includes the at least one light, and a switch extends into a lower, inside portion of the heel portion to be in contact with, and actuated by, contact with a heel of a skater.
