ABSTRACT A process for the production of a flowable liquid-solid (slush) mixture comprising a continuous liquid phase and a discontinuous solid phase comprised of discrete frozen particles of the liquid. The process comprises flowing a stream of the liquid through a closed conduit and introducing a cryogen into the closed conduit and into the flowing liquid stream so as to flow concurrently therewith. This process gives the conditions of maximum solid throughput in terms of line dimensions and angle of elevation. The invention is useful in mixing concrete.
