An in-situ reactor with hydrologic cells is provided to facilitate recovery of metals such as gold from rocks, or purification of salts such as potassium or magnesium chloride formed by evaporation of brines, by injecting into a source aquifer a fluid, which flows through and reacts with the solids or host rock within the in-situ reactor and then flows into a sink aquifer, from where it is drained or pumped out via an exhaust borehole into a plant or a facility for further chemical treatment.

L'invention concerne un réacteur in situ à cellules hydrologiques facilitant la récupération de métaux tel que l'or a partir de roches, ou la purification de sels tels que le chlorure de potassium ou de magnesium formés par évaporation de saumures, par injection d'un fluide dans un aquifère source, lequel s'écoule à travers et réagit avec les solides ou la roche favorable à l'intérieur du réacteur in situ et s'écoule dans un aquifère formant puits, d'où il est drainé ou pompé par un puits d'évacuation dans une installation ou une station de traitement pour y subir un autre traitement chimique.
