F-0693 IN SITU COMBUSTION OF TAR SANDS WITH INJECTION OF NON-CONDENSABLE GASES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In-situ combustion of tar sands is improved by introducing into the tar sand formation a stream of relatively light hydrocarbon gas. The stream of light hydrocarbon gas may contain a small proportion of hydrocarbons condensable at temperature and pressure conditions of the tar sand formation. The improvement is applicable to both forward and reverse in-situ combustion processes.
