The use of professional antigen presenting cells genetically modified to enhance expression of an immunostimulatory cytokine is disclosed for the treatment of individuals having tumors or infections. The genetically modified professional antigen presenting cells are injected directly at or near the site of the tumor or infection. Preferred professional antigen presenting cells include dendritic cells, and preferred immunostimulatory cytokines include interleukins such as IL-12.

Cette utilisation permet d'améliorer l'expression d'une cytokine immunostimulatrice et de traiter des sujets présentant des tumeurs ou des infections. Ces cellules professionnelles présentant un antigène génétiquement modifiées sont injectées directement sur le site de la tumeur ou de l'infection ou près de ce site. Parmi les cellules professionnelles présentant un antigène préférées figurent les cellules dendritiques et parmi les cytokines immunostimulatrices préférées figurent des interleukines telles que IL-12.
