ABSTRACT High speed corrugating adhesives are provided based upon the use of certain saponifiable starch ester materials. These are prepared in situ by introducing a carboxylic acid anhydride into an aqueous slurry of granular starch, and saponifying with alkali the ester formed. The specific formu- lations described have superior properties that permit higher corrugating machine speeds.
