A method and apparatus for forming layers on a target. The apparatus and method employ a direct current plasma apparatus to form at least one layer using a plasma jet containing precursors. In some embodiments, the direct current plasma apparatus utilizes axial injection of the precursors through the cathode (in an upstream and/or downstream configuration) and/or downstream of the anode. In some embodiments, the direct current plasma apparatus can comprise a laser source for remelting the layer using a laser beam to achieve insitu densification thereof.

L'invention porte sur un procédé et un appareil pour former des couches sur une cible. L'appareil et le procédé emploient un appareil à plasma à courant continu pour former au moins une couche à l'aide d'un jet de plasma contenant des précurseurs. Dans certains modes de réalisation, l'appareil de plasma à courant continu utilise une injection axiale des précurseurs à travers la cathode (dans une configuration en amont et/ou en aval) et/ou en aval de l'anode. Dans certains modes de réalisation, l'appareil à plasma à courant continu peut comprendre une source de laser pour refondre la couche à l'aide d'un faisceau laser afin de parvenir à une densification in situ de celle-ci.
