ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing microcapsules by contacting an epoxy resin with a ketimine in the presence of water. The ketimine and epoxy resin are provided in a stable dispersion of droplets of a first liquid in an aqueous continuous phase of a second liquid. The ketimine is hydrolyzed at the surface of the droplets to release a reactive amine. The reactive amine contacts the epoxy resin to form polymeric capsule walls of epoxy at the interface between the two phases. The resultant microcapsules are suitable for use in carbonless copying systems.
