An in-tyre sound absorber (1) for a pneumatic wheel assembly including a wheel rim (9) and a tyre fitted to the wheel rim. The sound absorber (1) comprises a first fibrous layer (5) and a second fibrous layer (3) with a higher air flow resistance than the first layer. The sound absorber (1) is configured to fit around the wheel rim (9) with the first layer (5) in contact with a surface of the wheel rim (9) and extending substantially between the second layer (3) and the wheel rim (9).
