A method for inactivating medically important Gram-positive bacteria including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Coagulase-Negative Staphylococcus (CONS), Streptococcus, Enterococcus and Clostridium species, comprising exposure to visible light, and in particular light within the wavelength range 400-500 nm.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'inactiver des bactéries gram-positives médicalement importantes y compris des staphylocoques dorés résistant à la méthicilline (MRSA), des staphylocoques coagulase négatifs (CONS), des streptocoques, des entérocoques et des espèces de clostridium, qui consiste en une exposition à la lumière visible et, plus précisément, à la lumière dans la gamme de longueurs d'onde comprises entre 400 et 500 nm.
