Inactivated scours vaccines for immunization and protection of bovine animals from disease caused by infection with bovine rotavirus and bovine coronavirus, which comprise and effective amount of at least one inactivated viral strain are described. Polyvalent inactivated vaccines further comprising an effective amount of an antigenic component which is protective against one or more additional pathogenic organisms or viruses are also disclosed. Said vaccines are prepared from one or more strains of rota- and coronavirus, C. perfringens Type C bacteria and E. coli bacteria, and combinations thereof. Preferably, a polyvalent inactivated vaccine is provided for parenteral administration. Passive immunity is achieved in neonatal calves via immunization of pregnant cows prior to birth.
L'invention concerne des vaccins anti-diarrhéiques inactivés destinés à l'immunisation et la protection d'animaux bovins contre une maladie provoquée par une infection à rotavirus bovin et coronavirus bovin, lesquels contiennent une dose efficace d'au moins une souche virale inactivée. L'invention concerne également des vaccins polyvalents inactivés contenant également une dose efficace d'un composé antigénique protecteur contre un ou plusieurs organismes ou virus pathogènes additionnels. Lesdits vaccins sont préparés à partir d'une ou de plusieurs souches de rotavirus et de coronavirus, des bactéries type C de C. perfringens et des bactéries E. coli, ainsi que des combinaisons de celles-ci. De préférence, un vaccin polyvalent inactivé est prévu pour une administration par voie parentérale. Une immunité passive est obtenue chez des veaux nouveau-nés par immunisation de vaches gravides avant la mise bas.
