An emulsion treater has an elongate vessel for receiving oil in which water is emulsified and gas is entrained, and for separating these impurities from the oil. The vessel is supported so that the axis is oblique through the horizontal, thus defining an upper and a lower end, each of which is closed by a head which may be hemispherical in shape. An elongate sleeve extends coaxially through the vessel and has an upper sleeve end projecting through the upper vessel head, and is itself closed by an upper sleeve head. At the lower end, the sleeve is open, with the open end being located at an intermediate position in the vessel. An elongate firetube extends coaxially through the vessel and the sleeve, and projects through the upper sleeve head and through the lower vessel head, thus defining a chamber with the sleeve which surrounds the firetube. A burner is provided for injecting hot combustion gases into the firetube at the upper end. An oil inlet admits oil to the elongate sleeve, while a gas separator removes gas from the oil in the elongate sleeve. An oil outlet adjacent the upper vessel head removes oil from the vessel, and a water outlet adjacent the lower vessel head removes water from the vessel.
Ce dispositif de traitement d'émulsion comporte un cylindre de forme allongée, destiné à recevoir l'huile dans laquelle l'eau est émulsionnée et le gaz entraîné, et à séparer ces impuretés à partir de l'huile. Le cylindre est soutenu de manière que son axe soit incliné par rapport à l'horizontale, définissant ainsi une extrémité supérieure et une extrémité inférieure, chacune fermée par une tête qui peut présenter une forme hémisphérique. Un manchon de forme allongée s'étend de manière coaxiale à l'intérieur du cylindre et présente une extrémité supérieure saillant à travers la tête supérieure du cylindre. Au niveau de son extrémité inférieure, le manchon est ouvert, cette extrémité ouverte étant placée à une position intermédiaire dans le cylindre. Un tube de fumée de forme allongée s'étend de manière coaxiale à travers le cylindre et le manchon et saille à travers l'extrémité supérieure du manchon et à travers l'extrémité inférieure du cylindre, définissant ainsi une chambre avec le manchon qui entoure le tube. Un brûleur injecte des gaz de combustion chauds dans le tube de fumée au niveau de l'extrémité supérieure. Un orifice d'entrée d'huile admet de l'huile dans le manchon, tandis qu'un séparateur de gaz enlève le gaz à partir de l'huile, dans le manchon. Un orifice de sortie d'huile, adjacent à la tête supérieure du cylindre, enlève l'huile à partir du cylindre, un orifice de sortie d'eau, adjacent à la tête inférieure du cylindre, enlevant l'eau à partir de celui-ci.
