A method of incorporating fibriform smoke-modifying material in smoking material rod, wherein fibriform smoke-modifying material is fed longitudinally thereof to a rod making machine (1). The longitudinal feed path in the machine is in a travel direction of the smoking material deposition run of the suction band (3) of the machine. The fibriform material (13) is either constrained by guide means (15) in the machine to follow a feed path spaced from the run (31) of the suction band against the suction force towards the run or the feed path of the fibriform smoke-modifying material is caused to ascend toward the deposition run under the influence of the suction force towards the run, until at a predetermined distance along the deposition run the fibrifonn material becomes supported and is subsequently maintained at a predetermined distance from the run by particulate smoking material (20) deposited on the run. Thereafter further smoking material (20') is deposited on the deposition run.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'incorporer un matériau fibriforme modificateur de la fumée dans une tige de matière à fumer. En l'occurrence, on alimente dans le sens de la longueur de la machine à cigarettes un matériau fibriforme modificateur de la fumée. Cet axe longitudinal de la machine à cigarettes correspond au sens de progression du chemin de dépôt de matière à fumer de la bande d'aspiration (3) de la machine. On peut choisir de faire contenir le matériau fibriforme (13) par des organes de guidage (15) dans la machine de façon à suivre un chemin d'alimentation présentant un certain écart par rapport au sens de défilement (31) de la bande d'aspiration en contrariant la force d'aspiration, en direction du sens de défilement. On peut aussi choisir d'amener le chemin d'alimentation du matériau fibriforme modificateur de la fumée à monter vers le chemin de dépôt sous l'influence de la force d'aspiration en direction de ce chemin, jusqu'à ce qu'à une distance définie le long du chemin de dépôt, le matériau fibriforme se trouve sur un support et reste ainsi maintenu à une certaine distance du chemin grâce à la matière particulaire à fumer (20) déposée sur le chemin. On continue alors à déposer un complément de matière à fumer (20') sur le chemin de dépôt.
