The invention relates to an independent suspension for a steerable wheel of a mining vehicle and to a suspension unit. The wheel (6) of the mining vehicle (1) is mounted to a frame (2) via the suspension unit (7) alone. The suspension unit comprises an outer tube (15) attached to the frame and an inner tube (14) arranged partly inside the outer tube, the hub (16) of the wheel being attached to the lower part of the inner tube. The inner tube may move in a longitudinal direction as required by suspension movements and, further, the inner tube may be rotated about its longitudinal axis to steer the wheel. The suspension unit is further provided with hydropneumatic members for producing suspension movement and dampening.
L~invention a trait à un système de suspension indépendant pour une roue orientable d~un véhicule d~exploitation minière et à une unité de suspension. La roue (6) du véhicule d~exploitation minière (1) est assemblée à un cadre (2) via l~unité de suspension (7) seule. L~unité de suspension comprend un tube extérieur (15) fixé au cadre et un tube intérieur (14) disposé en partie à l~intérieur du tube extérieur, le moyeu (16) de la roue étant fixé à la partie basse du tube intérieur. Le tube intérieur peut se déplacer dans un sens longitudinal suivant les mouvements de la suspension et, de plus, peut être mis en rotation autour de son axe longitudinal afin d~orienter la roue. L~unité de suspension comprend également des éléments oléopneumatiques qui produisent les mouvements de la suspension et assurent l~amortissement.
