ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an indicator device for cassettes loaded with magnetic information carriers, in which one of the faces of the cassette defines a window. An indicator block is located and guided for sliding movement between at least two discrete fixed positions in the window and a position- ing arrangement is provided to fix the indicator block in the discrete position. A surface below the window is covered or uncovered by the indicator block which has a different height so that the height difference can easily be detected by an appropriate detecting device.
