An indole derivative represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof, and a medicine containing the same (wherein R1 represents lower alkyl; R2 represents hydrogen or phenyl which may be substituted by at least one lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen atom; R3 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or phenylalkyloxy which may be substituted by halogen or lower alkyl; R4 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R5 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; and n represents an integer of 1 to 5). This compound has the effects of both blocking .alpha.1-adrenergic receptors and inhibiting testosterone 5.alpha.-reductases, and is useful as a remedy and/or a preventive for diseases caused by dihydrotestosterone overproduction, such as prostatic hypertrophy, and diseases accompanying the same, such as urination disorder, male-pattern alopecia, acne, pimple, and so forth.

L'invention concerne un dérivé d'indole représenté par la formule générale (1) ou bien un sel de celui-ci, ainsi qu'un médicament le contenant, formule dans laquelle R?1¿ représente alkyle inférieur; R?2¿ représente hydrogène ou phényle pouvant être remplacé par au moins un alkyle inférieur, alcoxy inférieur ou un atome d'halogène; R?3¿ représente hydrogène, alkyle inférieur, alcoxy inférieur ou phénylalcoxy pouvant être remplacé par halogène ou alkyle inférieur; R?4¿ représente hydrogène, alkyle inférieur ou alcoxy inférieur; R?5¿ représente hydrogène ou alkyle inférieur; et n représente un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 5. Ce composé présente les effets à la fois de bloquer les récepteurs .alpha.¿1?-adrénergique et d'inhiber les 5.alpha.-réductases de testostérone, il est également utile en tant que remède et/ou préventif contre des maladies provoquées par la surproduction de dihydrotestostérone, telle que l'hypertrophie prostatique, ainsi que des maladies l'accompagnant tels que des troubles urinaires, la calvitie hypocratique, l'acné, les papules etc...
