An induction furnace is disclosed comprising a crucible for holding a material to be heated by the furnace, an induction coil assembly, and a module-support assembly surrounding and radially supporting the induction coil assembly so as to facilitate the replacement and reconnection of the induction coil assembly. The induction coil assembly comprises an induction coil, an upper yoke, a lower yoke, and a plurality of intermediate yokes that are spaced apart from each other. The induction coil is wound around the crucible and defines the periphery of the induction furnace. The intermediate yokes are arranged to extend around substantially all of the periphery defined by the wound induction coil. The upper and lower yokes are electromagnetically coupled together by the plurality of intermediate yokes. The module-support assembly has upright members and shaft members that allow each of the plurality of intermediate yokes to be separately removed from the furnace while the other intermediate yokes remain in place and to allow for the induction coil assembly to be removed from the furnace in its entirety.
L'objet de la présente invention est un four à induction comportant un creuset pour contenir les matières destinées à être chauffées, un ensemble de bobine d'induction et un support modulaire entourant et supportant radialement la bobine d'induction de façon à en faciliter le remplacement et le rebranchement. L'ensemble de bobine d'induction comporte une bobine d'induction, une chape supérieure, une chape inférieure, et une pluralité de chapes intermédiaires espacées les unes des autres. La bobine d'induction est enroulée autour du creuset et définit la périphérie du four à induction. Les chapes intermédiaires sont disposées de manière à se prolonger sur toute la périphérie définie par la bobine d'induction. Les chapes supérieure et inférieure sont liées par couplage électromagnétique par une pluralité de chapes intermédiaires. Le support modulaire comporte des éléments verticaux et des membrures qui assurent l'espacement de chacune de la pluralité de chapes intermédiaires par rapport au four tout en permettant aux autres chapes intermédiaires de demeurer en place sans gêner l'enlèvement de l'ensemble de bobine d'induction.
