An induction heating for thermal rollers with a swivel-mounted hollow cylinder roller jacket equipped at its extremities with axis flanges, with an inductor arrayed within one of there enclosed spaces and coupled inductively with the roller jacket, consisting of an inductor spool, carrying a single or multiple phase current, and a magnetic core, characterized in that the roller jacket itself forms the magnetic core and the inductor spool consists of one or more rod- or shell-shaped current conductors, distributed peripherally in an array parallel to the axis in the vicinity of the internal surface of the roller jacket, stretching axially at least across the greatest bale width of the roller and adjustable in their inductive coupling to the roller jacket in sections or zones.
