ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An inductive component, such as a transformer or a transducer, consisting of a high permeability magnetic material overlaying the electrical- ly conductive winding is provided. This soft magnetic material consists of an amorphous alloy and is composed of one or more of the following: iron, nickel, phosphorus, boron, silicon, carbon, aluminum, cobalt, chromium, molybdenum, titanium, vandium, and copper; which is formed into a thin tape for use in creating the soft magnetic windings. By creating these amorphous, highly permeable windings over the electrically conductive windings, a com- ponent is created which permits the utilization of greater amounts of the electrically conductive material in place of the more expensive magnetic material, relative to the output obtained.
