The design of an electronic switch suitable for regulating the current supplied to inductive loads, such as magnetic bearings is disclosed. The electronic switch employs an alternate circuit design which differs from the conventional "H- Bridge" arrangement. The electronic switch is characterized by utilizing only one semiconductor switch and one rectifying element means. The novel circuit of the electronic switch reduces the complexity of the switch compared to the conventional "H-Bridge" arrangement.
