An inductively coupled plasma processing apparatus (100) comprises a plasma chamber (12) with a dielectric window (400) forming a self-supporting wall element of the plasma chamber (12). The dielectric window (400) has an external and an internal side with respect to the chamber (12). An electromagnetic field source (140) is arranged in front of the external side of the dielectric window (400) for generating an electromagnetic field within the plasma chamber (12). The field source comprises at least one magnetic core (301, 302, 303). The at least one magnetic core (301, 302, 303) is attached to the external side of the dielectric window (400), such that the at least one magnetic core helps the dielectric window (400) to withstand collapsing forces caused by negative pressure inside said chamber during operation.

L'invention concerne un appareil de traitement au plasma par couplage inductif (100), qui comprend une chambre de plasma (12) dotée d'une fenêtre diélectrique (400) formant un élément de paroi auto-portant de ladite chambre de plasma (12). La fenêtre diélectrique (400) présente un côté externe et un côté interne par rapport à la chambre de plasma (12). Une source de champ électromagnétique (140) est disposée face au côté externe de la fenêtre diélectrique (400) afin de générer un champ électromagnétique à l'intérieur de la chambre de plasma (12). Ladite source de champ comprend au moins un noyau magnétique (301, 302, 303). Ces noyaux magnétiques (301, 302, 303) sont fixés au côté externe de la fenêtre diélectrique (400), ce qui leur permet d'aider ladite fenêtre diélectrique (400) à résister aux forces d'écrasement provoquées par une pression négative à l'intérieur de ladite chambre lors du fonctionnement.
