ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An inductor comprises two or more concentric coils, which extend one in the other and define gaps between them and are electrically connected in parallel and consist of bundles of conductors. The conductor bundles forming the coils are identical in structural composition and total cross-sectional conductor area and consist of conductor which are insulated from each other and twisted together. The conductors bundles have been pressed to have rectangular cross-sections having different dimensions in the axial direction of the coil so that the coils have approximately the same axial dimension although their numbers of turns decrease in a radially outward direction.
