An industrial equipment operating status scanner for recording the location and exact time of all switch/contact openings in an industrial machine or process. The scanner of the present invention also provides an indication as to whether the fault was intermittent or continuous. Thus, system fault diagnosis is made simple and reliable, resulting in less down time and less loss of revenue to the owner of the industrial machine(s) or process. The scanner provides an indication firstly of whether or not the machine is operational, secondly, in the event of an intermittent problem, the scanner displays which input device is faulty, and thirdly, in the event that operation of the machine has been stopped, the scanner displays which input device caused it to stop. In addition to the foregoing, the scanner displays also which input is preventing the machine from starting again. The time and date of the fault is also displayed by the scanner of the present invention. Thus, the scanner provides monitoring of the status of a machine's circuits and diagnoses any faults. It also records the machine's running time as well as the down time.
La présente invention a pour objet un analyseur d'état de fonctionnement pour équipement industriel utilisé pour enregistrer les données concernant l'emplacement et l'heure exacte de toute ouverture des contacts d'interrupteurs dans une machine ou dans un procédé. L'analyseur de la présente invention fournit aussi une indication à savoir si la panne est de nature intermittente ou continue. Le diagnostic des pannes du système est ainsi facilité et rendu plus fiable, ce qui se traduit par moins de temps d'arrêt et moins de pertes de revenus pour le propriétaire de l'équipement ou du procédé en cause. L'analyseur fournit d'abord une indication à savoir si la machine est opérationnelle ou non et, deuxièmement, en cas de problème intermittent, l'analyseur affiche lequel des dispositifs d'entrée est défectueux et, troisièmement, dans le cas le fonctionnement de la machine serait interrompu, l'analyseur indique quel est le dispositif à l'origine de la panne. En outre, l'analyseur indique lequel des dispositifs d'entrée empêche la remise en marche de la machine. L'heure et la date de la défectuosité sont également affichées par l'analyseur qui, en plus, tient un registre des heures de fonctionnement et de temps mort de la machine.
