ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An industrial radiography installation for the rapid checking of metal parts or of the assembly of metal parts, this installation used for example for checking rectilinear welding beads joining large-sized metal plates, comprising an X-ray irradiation apparatus and a sensitive film recording device. The irradiator- recorder assembly which may move along two orthogonal axes xx, yy is temporarily interlocked with a carriage movable along axis xx. This irradiator-recorder assem- bly is capable of being disengaged from the carriage and to move along one of the axis yy parallel to the welding beads.
