INERT SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION COLUMN AND METHOD OF MAKING IT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An inert solid phase extraction column includes a housing 11 which minimizes the contaminants which it may impart to an analytical sample moving through the housing. The housing contains packing material 17 which preconcentrates and removes contaminants from the sample while minimizing the contaminants which it may impart to the sample. The method of making this column includes providing a substantially contaminant-free housing and cleaning the packing material to remove contaminant which it contains before placing it in the housing.
