Abstract The invention is concerned with a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of the spike protein polypeptide of an IBV strain belonging to the Arkansas serotype, or an antigenic fragment thereof. Such a polypeptide can be used for the immunization of birds against IBV infection. The invention also relates to a nucleic acid sequence encoding such a polypeptide. Said nucleic acid sequence is especially useful for the preparation of vector vaccines.
