INFEED AND OUTFEED APPARATUS FOR WOODWORKING MACHINES Abstract Infeed and outfeed apparatus for feeding boards to and receiving boards from a woodworking machine such as a chipper or saw each include an endless roller chain draped over a pair of sprockets affixed to spaced, parallel shafts. Links on the roller chain carry small nibs that extend above a straight line path defined by the outer portion of the links. The nibs engage a board received by the infeed or outfeed apparatus and prevent the board from laterally deviating from the path defined by the chain links. Each of the shafts also carries idler rollers mounted for rotation on the shafts on each side of the chain sprockets. The distance of the periphery of rollers from the shaft axis is substantially the same as that of the outer surface of the links so that the nibs extend slightly above the periphery of the rollers. The rollers support the board and prevent it from rotating about its longitudinal axis.
