A chair comprises: (i) a support member; (ii) a seat portion pivotally mounted on the support member; (iii) an arm rest member having an actuating button positioned in the arm rest member, the button being movable between a first position and a second position; (iv) a fluid pressure cylinder having actuating member and operatively connected to the seat portion for adjustment of the inclination thereof; and, (v) a flexible cable having a first end connected to the button and a second end operatively connected to the actuating member whereby, when the button is moved from the first position to the second position, the actuation member is actuated so that the inclination of the chair may be adjusted and when the button is moved from the second position to the first position, the inclination of the chair is fixed.
