There is provided an inflatable cushion filling machine (100) for forming inflated packaging cushions (10) from a roll (122) of tubular thermoplastic material. The machine includes a film supply section (120) and a cushion forming section (130). The cushion forming section includes means for delivering the tubular material through the cushion forming section; means (137a) for applying tension to the web of tubular material while air is being introduced into the tubular material. Means are provided for introducing air into the area between the tension means to fill the cushion. When filled, a sealing band (150), displaced transversely across the inflated tubular thermoplastic material, seals the lower end to form the top of one cushion and the bottom of the next cushion. Prior to forming the cushion, the walls of the tubular material separate from each other by the residual air from the filling operation of the previous cushion. A perforation knife (160) may be provided to separate each cushion from the next succeeding cushion.
L'invention concerne une machine de remplissage (100) de coussins gonflables (10), servant à former des coussins de calage gonflés à partir d'un rouleau (122) de matière thermoplastique tubulaire. La machine comporte une section d'alimentation en film (120) et une section de formation de coussins (130). La section de formation de coussins comporte un dispositif (137a) d'apport de matière tubulaire par la section de formation de coussins; un dispositif permettant d'appliquer une tension à la bande (150) de matière tubulaire pendant que de l'air est introduit dans la matière tubulaire. Un dispositif est prévu qui permet d'introduire de l'air dans la zone du dispositif de tension afin de remplir le coussin. Lorsque ce dernier est rempli, une bande de soudage placée transversalement à travers la matière thermoplastique tubulaire gonflée, permet de souder l'extrémité inférieure de manière à former la partie supérieure d'un coussin et la partie inférieure du coussin suivant. Avant formation du coussin, les parois de la matière tubulaire sont séparées l'une de l'autre par de l'air résiduel provenant de l'opération de remplissage du coussin précédent. Un couteau de perforation (160) peut être prévu pour séparer chaque coussin du coussin suivant.
