A device that provides physical therapy and assists a patient in keeping their hand in an open position is herein disclosed. The inflatable therapeutic device comprises a resilient inflatable body which is placed in a patient's hand. The body is made of a soft rubber material which is inflated by a hand pump connected via a short piece of tubing. In such a manner a care provider can place the device in a patient's hand in an open position. The exterior of the inflatable body is provided with a soft, lightweight terry- cloth covering which can be removed and washed. The inflatable body is also provided with a hand grip section thus providing cushioning knobs near the fingertip area to aid in holding and retaining the device. It is envisioned that during each use, the device would be inflated slightly more than the time before to help strengthen and rehabilitate the patient's hand. The device is envisioned as being especially useful for those who have suffered a stroke or similar ailment.
