The information carrier according to the invention is of an optically inscribable type, such as a CD-E or CD-WO. Information can be recorded as a track of patterns on the information carrier. The manufacturer has provided the information carrier with carrier information, for example, information about the write power to be used. It is desirable for the patterns to have constant dimensions, irrespective of the velocity at which they are recorded. The recording process in which the recording is effected is therefore to be adapted to the recording velocity. In order to attune this adaptation to the information carrier, the latter contains velocity-related information indicative of the recording process related to a recording velocity, for example, a reference velocity (V1-V3), while the remaining recording parameters (W1-W3) are given for a minimum and/or maximum recording velocity at which the information carrier can be recorded. The device reads the velocity-related information from the information carrier and adapts the recording process to the recording velocity that must actually be used.
Le support d'informations faisant l'objet de cette invention est du type optiquement inscriptible, tel qu'un disque compact à enregistrement effaçable ou un disque compact inscriptible une seule fois. Les informations peuvent être enregistrées sous la forme d'une piste de motifs sur le support d'informations. Le fabricant prévoit que ce support d'informations contienne ses propres informations, telles que les informations relatives à le puissance d'écriture à utiliser. Il est souhaitable que les motifs aient des dimensions constantes, quelle que soit la vitesse à laquelle elles sont enregistrées. Le processus d'enregistrement par lequel s'effectue l'opération d'enregistrement est par conséquent adapté à la vitesse d'enregistrement. Afin que cette adaptation corresponde audit support d'informations, on prévoit que celui-ci contienne des informations relatives à la vitesse, indiquant le processus d'enregistrement relatif à une vitesse d'enregistrement, par exemple une vitesse de référence (V1-V3), tandis que les paramètres d'enregistrement restants (W1-W3) sont donnés pour une vitesse d'enregistement minimum et/ou maximum à laquelle est enregistré le support d'informations. Le dispositif utilisé lit les informations relatives à la vitesse contenues dans le support d'informations et adapte le processus d'enregistrement à la vitesse d'enregistrement qui doit être utilisée dans ce cas.
