A method of providing video information to a display monitor (10) within an elevator located in a building (14), which includes receiving first data defining a category of video information, receiving second data, associated with the category of video information and defining at least one source of the video information; and retrieving from the source (20), over a data communications path and on the basis of the first data and the second data, the video information to be displayed on the monitor within the elevator.

Procédé de distribution d'informations vidéo à un moniteur (10) de visualisation placé à l'intérieur d'un ascenseur lui-même situé dans un bâtiment (14). Le procédé consiste à recevoir des premières données définissant une catégorie d'informations vidéo, à recevoir des deuxièmes données, associées à la catégorie d'informations vidéo et définissant au moins une source des informations vidéo ; et à récupérer à partir de la source (20) sur une voie de communication et sur la base des premières et deuxièmes données, les informations vidéo devant être affichées sur le moniteur de visualisation placé dans l'ascenseur.
