The present invention provides an electronic information system for providing account information to a user. Aspects of the present invention may provide the user with access to his or her account information by collecting the information at a server which can receive information from a feed source and transmit information to a client. Additionally methods for downloading and installing specialized software for viewing the account information on the client. Also specialized software for converting the information received from the feed sources to a different format is disclosed. Some embodiments of this software may determine the syntax of the format that is compatible with the intended receiving client. The software may comprise a host of different encryption systems to protect the privacy of the users of the system and the account information therein. Additionally, the software may comprise a special access password feature and a privileged access routine.
