In order to increase operating safety and capacity in the taxiing area, the indicator surface of the information sign incorporates an changeable aircraft or vehicle-specific symbolism to impart information concerning the runway or taxi route that has been assigned to an aircraft or vehicle. A control unit that can be controlled from a central computer is provided to display the symbols. Figure.
