ABSTRACT An information data storage apparatus stores one or more blocks of information data on a recording disc. Each block is divided into a plurality of sectors. The disc has a main recording area and a secondary recording area. After recording one or more blocks by a recording head, the same recorded area is scanned again for verification of the recorded data. If the verification detects defect sectors they are registered in a buffer. After recording a number of blocks with a number of detected defect sectors registered in the buffer, the recording head moves to the second recording area to record the information data of the defect sectors.
