There is disclosed an information system (1) for use with animals, comprising a base station (2) and a number of units (3) being in wireless communication with said base station, which ear units are to be placed in the animal's ear. The ear units are provided with one or more sensors (5) for periodically measuring quantities such as temperature, sound, (ruminating) activity, movement, heart rate and/or biochemical values, at least in the ear, and they are provided with an activable transmitter for transmitting, upon activation of said transmitter, individual sensor measurement data to the base station in a manner which leads to a reduced energy consumption. The ear unit may be provided with more than one sensor, which sensors are disposed at different locations, for measuring the same quantity at several positions or depths in the ear, so as to make it possible to reliably diagnose any impending disorders of the animal. The ear unit may furthermore comprise a cavity for receiving and gradually delivering medicines or health-promoting substances.
L'invention porte sur un système d'information (1) en vue d'une utilisation avec des animaux. Ce système comprend une station de base (2) et un certain nombre d'appareils auriculaires (3) en communication sans fil avec ladite station de base, lesquels appareils auriculaires doivent être placés dans l'oreille d'un animal. Les appareils auriculaires sont pourvus d'au moins un capteur (5) destiné à mesurer de façon périodique des quantités telles que température, son, activité (rumination), mouvement, rythme cardiaque et/ou valeurs biochimiques, au moins dans l'oreille, et d'un émetteur activable servant à transmettre, lors de son activation, des données de mesure de capteur individuel à la station de base d'une manière qui engendre une faible consommation d'énergie. L'appareil auriculaire peut être pourvu de plusieurs capteurs qui sont disposés à des emplacements différents, et sont destinés à mesurer une même quantité à plusieurs positions, ou profondeurs, dans l'oreille, de façon à rendre possible un diagnostic fiable de tout trouble imminent chez l'animal. L'appareil auriculaire peut de plus comprendre une cavité destinée à recevoir et à administrer progressivement des médicaments ou des substances favorisant un bon état de santé.
