This is an information system to provide public bus transit users with information on the amount of waiting time for buses (2) at bus stops (3). This information system comprises a bus locating system (4) connected to a central station (5) which transmits these positions at successive instants .theta. to receivers (10) which have been specially adapted to calculate bus waiting times on the basis of these positions, the said positions reaching the receivers after a certain amount of transmission time T. To ensure the greatest possible accuracy in the calculation of waiting times, the central computer station transmits to the receivers estimated positions which the buses should normally occupy at the .theta.+T instant.

Il s'agit d'un système d'information pour renseigner les usagers d'un réseau d'autobus sur les temps d'attente des autobus (2) aux arrêts (3) de ce réseau. Ce système comprend un système de localisation (4) des autobus, couplé à un poste central (5) qui transmet ces positions à des instants successifs .theta. vers des récepteurs (10) adaptés pour calculer les temps d'attente des autobus à partir de ces positions, lesdites positions parvenant aux récepteurs au bout d'un certain temps de moyen d'acheminement T. Afin que les temps d'attente ainsi calculés soient les plus précis possibles, le poste central informatique transmet aux récepteurs des positions estimées que devraient normalement occuper les autobus à l'instant .theta.+T.
