In an information transmission method, error robustness is provided for the bit stream itself so that decoding processing can be properly performed even in the event of an error in important information such as header information. A bit stream reconstruction circuit (107) in an encoding apparatus adds sync signals to the heads of encoded data streams, which are encoded by an encoder (103), in certain bit stream units, and then inserts designation information in each bit stream by using a designation information insertion circuit (106). Each designation information indicates the addition of information for reconstructing impor- tant header information. By inserting the designation information in the bit stream obtained, reconstruction information can be added to the bit stream. Even if, therefore, an error is introduced into the header information, and the information cannot be used for decoding processing, the decoding processing can be properly continued by using the new reconstruction information designated by the designation information as a substitute.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de transmission d'informations grâce auquel une chaîne de bits peut être décodée normalement même lorsqu'une erreur se produit dans des informations importantes, telles que des informations d'en-tête. Ce procédé consiste à conférer une résistance aux erreurs à la chaîne de bits proprement dite. Un circuit de reconstitution de chaîne de bit (107) d'un codeur va ajouter un signal de synchronisation à la première partie d'une chaîne de données codées, ceci dans les unités d'une certaine chaîne de bits fixe qui a été codée par un circuit de codage (103). Le circuit de reconstitution va ensuite insérer des informations de type instructions dans la chaîne de bits à l'aide d'un circuit d'insertion d'informations de type instructions (106). Ces informations de type instructions consistent en des informations additionnelles qui permettent de recouvrer des informations d'en-tête importantes, lesdites informations de type instructions étant insérées dans la chaîne de bits. Les informations servant au recouvrement peuvent ainsi être ajoutées à la chaîne de données codées. En outre, même dans le cas où les informations d'en-tête ne peuvent être utilisées dans le décodage parce qu'une erreur s'y est introduite, le décodage peut se poursuivre normalement en utilisant les nouvelles informations servant au recouvrement qui sont représentées par les informations de type instructions se trouvant dans les informations d'en-tête.
