The present invention is an infrared-heated differential thermal analyzing instrument. The instrument uses an actively cooled heat sink, and a heat flow restricting element connecting the heat sink to a differential thermal analysis sensor. An IR heater directs IR radiation onto the lateral surfaces of the heat sink and the heat flow restricting element. These lateral surfaces are polished and coated with a high IR reflectance coating, so that heat absorption is minimized. The IR heater preferably uses either elliptical or parabolic mirrors to focus the IR radiation onto the heat sink and the heat flow restricting element. A second embodiment of the invention uses two heat sinks, and two heat flow restricting elements, mounted on either side of the differential analysis thermal sensor.
L'invention porte sur un instrument d'analyse thermique différentielle chauffé à l'infrarouge. L'instrument se sert d'un dissipateur de chaleur activement refroidi et d'un élément de restriction du flux thermique reliant le dissipateur susmentionné à un capteur d'analyse thermique différentielle. Un émetteur infrarouge dirige le rayonnement infrarouge sur les surfaces latérales du dissipateur de chaleur et de l'élément de restriction du flux thermique. Ces surfaces latérales sont polies et enduites d'une couche de réflexion élevée des infrarouges, de sorte que l'absorption thermique est réduite. L'émetteur infrarouge utilise de préférence des miroirs elliptiques ou paraboliques pour concentrer le rayonnement infrarouge sur le dissipateur de chaleur et sur l'élément de restriction du flux thermique. Dans un second modèle, l'invention utilise deux dissipateurs de chaleur, et deux éléments de restriction du flux thermique, montés de chaque côté du capteur d'analyse thermique différentielle.
