The invention refers to an infusion device comprising a pump (1), an electronic controller (8) for controlling the pump (1) and a mechanical stop facility (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) for stopping the pump (1) by mechanically blocking pump motion. According to the invention the stop facility (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) periodically requires resetting by the controller (8) to continue an infusion.
