An inhalation device (10) for use with an aerosol container comprises a housing (11) for receiving an aerosol container (12) and a spacer member (13) having a mouthpiece (14) defining an outlet (15) through which a user can inhale. The housing and the spacer member are attached toghether so as to be movable with respect to each other between an inoperative position in which the housing is received within the spacer member and an operative position in which the housing is withdrawn from the spacer member and oriented at a substantial angle thereto. The device further comprises a dispensing member (16) for receiving material to be dispensed from said container and delivering it into said spacer member. The dispensing member (16) is located in said housing and supported spaced from the walls thereof by a plurality of spaced ribs (19). The housing includes a forwardly extending projection (25) shaped so as to be received by the mouthpiece member in the inoperative condition so that the projectin acts as a closure member to close the outlet (15).
On décrit un inhalateur (10) pouvant être utilisé avec un générateur d'aérosol, qui comprend un boîtier (11) pour recevoir un générateur d'aérosol (12), et un spacer (13) muni d'un embout buccal (14) présentant un orifice de sortie (15) par lequel un utilisateur effectue l'inhalation. Le boîtier et le spacer sont fixés de manière solidaire et se déplacent l'un par rapport à l'autre d'une position de repos dans laquelle le boîtier est logé dans le spacer à une position de fonctionnement dans laquelle le boîtier est retiré du spacer et occupe un angle sensiblement dégagé du spacer. L'inhalateur comprend en outre un élément de distribution (16) qui reçoit dudit générateur la matière à distribuer et l'achemine dans le spacer. Ledit élément de distribution (16) est disposé dans le boîtier et maintenu en place à distance des parois du boîtier par une série de nervures (19) espacées. Le boîtier inclut une projection qui fait saillie vers l'avant (25). Ladite projection est conçue de manière à s'emboîter dans l'embout buccal lorsque l'appareil est en position de repos, et sert de fermeture pour boucher l'orifice de sortie (15).
