The actuation mechanism of a breath-actuated inhaler for delivery of a medicament by inhalation. The actuation mechanism includes a pre-loading mechanism is arranged to load the resilient loading element by manual depression of two contact members movable relative to the housing and disposed opposite one another on either side of the axis of a canister held in the housing. The actuation mechanism also includes a pivotably mounted trigger vane arranged to be moved by inhalation at the mouthpiece to cause operation of the actuation mechanism, wherein the trigger vane is mounted to pivot about an axis passing through the centre of mass of the trigger. The triggering mechanism comprises a knee joint having a locked position where the knee joint holds the resilient loading element against compression of the canister and a trigger responsive to the inhalation at the mouthpiece to break the knee joint into a broken position where the knee joint releases the resilient loading element to allow compression of the canister. Furthermore the trigger comprises a second knee joint connected to the first-mentioned knee joint and having a locked position where the second knee joint holds the first knee joint in its locked position and movable in response to inhalation at the mouthpiece to a broken position to break the first knee joint.
L'invention porte sur un mécanisme d'actionnement d'un inhaleur activé par la respiration et destiné à administrer un médicament par inhalation. Ce mécanisme comprend un mécanisme de préchargement agencé de façon à charger l'élément de chargement résilient en exerçant une pression manuelle sur les deux éléments de contact qui se déplacent par rapport au logement et qui sont situés à l'opposé l'un de l'autre de chaque côté de l'axe d'une cartouche placée dans le logement. Le mécanisme d'actionnement comprend également une ailette de déclencheur montée pivotante qui se déplace sous l'effet de l'inhalation dans la bouche, faisant ainsi fonctionner le mécanisme d'actionnement. L'ailette du déclencheur est montée de façon à pivoter autour d'un axe traversant le centre de la masse du déclencheur. Le mécanisme de déclenchement comprend un joint articulé pourvu d'une position verrouilée dans laquelle il retient l'élément de chargement résilient contre la compression de la cartouche et un déclencheur réagissant à l'inhalation dans la bouche et cassant le joint articulé qui libère alors l'élément de chargement résilient de façon à permettre la compression de la cartouche. Le déclencheur comprend également un second joint articulé raccordé au premier en position verrouillée et pouvant se déplacer en réaction à l'inhalation dans la bouche de façon à rompre le premier joint articulé.
